Avalanche Education for skiers and splitboarders, as well as snowmobilers and snowbikers
Our education season runs from late December to early April. Non-motorized classes are held at Schweitzer Mountain and Silver Mountain. Motorized courses are held in Priest Lake and Wallace, Idaho. Level 1 and 2 courses have a required classroom portion that can be completed online at your own pace. Courses follow the American Avalanche Association guidelines and are taught by A3 Member instructors.
Courses are open to students ages 16 and older. Any students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with the exception of our Youth Backcountry 101 course, which is open to students ages 13-17.
